MII Students "Venture Out" During Orientation

MII welcomes a new class of doctoral students this fall. Our seven incoming students applied to our Macromolecular Science and Engineering (MACR) program with an array of academic backgrounds. As these students will be working closely together during their time at Virginia Tech, we aim to include a collaborative activity during orientation.

Students were excited for the opportunity to get outdoors and tackle the VT Challenge Course. Communication was a must to solve puzzles and get everyone to the finish line. These activities initiated team building amongst the students in preparation for the approaching challenges that come with obtaining their PhDs.

We look forward to educating a new class of students and can’t wait to see what they discover!
